“Touching The History” Photography Exhibition in Providence

Hagia SofiaA. Cemal Ekin, a Professor in the Department of Marketing at Providence College, is presenting photographs of Hagia Sofia in Hunt-Cavanaugh Art Gallery in Providence College. What is so special about this exhibition is that all the photographs are taken from the inside of the dome – a unique vantage point inaccessible to most visitors.

Hagia Sofia is an almost 1500-year-old structure that served as a basilica, then a mosque, and finally as a museum. It is well-known for its huge dome which had collapsed many times through the centuries.

This exhibition is open to visitors from September 8th to October 22nd free of charge. Visiting hours is 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday.
